Say Cheese!

My family and I were invited to a blogger event sponsered by
Tillamook Cheese as part of their Loaf Love Tour.

My Pearls cheese tasting, getting buttons
and fun little loaf love mini buses.
The Tillamook Brand Ambassadors were so welcoming and wonderful.
They put on a terrific, fun and relaxing event.

The face painter is a true artist.
She did an amazing job.
The balloons were a Bang, literally.
They were fun even though they didn't last long.
The balloonist put sprinkles in some of
the balloons which made them extra fun.

There was also a game of toss and a bounce house.

We participated in a grilled cheese contest.
Look at the spread we got to choose from.
(Okay, not the best photo.  All of my photos at this event were done
with my iPhone.  But trust me, it was a delicious spread)!
Miss M likes hers simple, Say Cheese.
This is my grilled cheese (pre-grilled) that I entered for the contest.  I didn't win, but it was still a lot of fun.

See.  My Pearls couldn't get enough of the "face" painting.
I even had to get in on it.
Miss M got to toot all of the horns and check out the engines of the mini vw buses.
I loved the mini buses too.
Loafy came for a visit.  Miss A rockin' w/ Loafy.

Miss B enjoyed hanging out with
Pro Skateboarder Adam Taylor.

The atmosphere was casual and
made it great for meeting other bloggers.

I'm pictured here with Brandi, Carolyn and Carly.
I also met Jyl and Ashlee.
All are so talented and fabulous.

Thanks Tillamook and Blogging Friends
for a great afternoon!

Friends AND Family All In One

Our Cousins came from California for a visit.  They had received tickets to attend General Conference.  Baby had been sick and so we only had the opportunity to visit a short time, but well worth it!  It is wonderful how we can pick up like it hasn't been 3+ years (way too long) since we saw each other last.

We picnicked at a park and visited our Alma Mater.
Unfortunatley my camera wasn't working right and so I didn't get many photos.
Cousins!

Found Family

I met Anita while going to college.  She lived in the apartment below me.  We quickly became close friends and still are today.  She and husband, Drew, moved to California.  Back to their roots.  But we have visited either by phone or in person.  I wish that we lived closer and I think of them often.  Though, no matter the time between conversations, we pick up where we had left off.

Last week while we were talking on the phone Anita said she had some random thing to share.  She has been doing her genealogy and discovered that she had relatives who are active in the church and live in California.  The father was even her Bishop at one time.  She mentioned the girls' name who had contacted her, Jane.  And said a few different things about the family.  The wheels of my mind were spinning out of control.  I asked her a few questions about the people and included some names.  Yes, they are my relatives too.  The girl she talked to is actually my second cousin, once removed - my mother's side.

Wow!  All this time of being friends and to find out we are family.  It's surreal.  It's exciting.  I believe that Jane and Anita are second cousins - from her mother's side.

How exciting for Anita, especially, to find that she has relatives from her dad's side.  They didn't know existed until recently.

Thanks Jane for calling Anita.
And thanks Cousin for sharing that random thing.  Love you!
